Exel Composites from Finland is collaborating with French airship manufacturer and operator Flying Whales to develop thin-walled carbon fiber tubes for the most advanced airships.
The airship will be able to transport up to 60 tons of cargo to remote and difficult to reach locations worldwide, reducing emissions compared to land air transportation. Airships require 80 kilometers of stretch wound carbon fiber tubes. Pull wound carbon fiber pipes are the best ideal choice because compared to other technologies, they can add additional reinforcement materials to the pipes while maintaining quality, stability, and uniformity.
