According to SGL Carbon, compared to traditional steel-concrete structures, using carbon fiber reinforced concrete can save over 60 tons of carbon dioxide. In addition, the weight of the road panel has been reduced by 55%, with only 450 kilograms per square meter. Due to the corrosion resistance of carbon fiber, this lightweight design also ensures a longer service life for the bridge. In addition, due to the reduced weight and prefabricated bridge sections, installation can be completed overnight, minimizing the impact on busy traffic on the A3 highway.
